Design Directory Ireland

About

Design Directory Ireland recognises the importance of supporting Irish designers for the growth and sustainability of Ireland’s creative economy. This portal opens a channel of interaction between designer and user.

Whether you’re commissioning, specifying or buying design products or services, Design Directory Ireland is an instrumental resource. The directory also encourages collaboration across disciplines between designers and makes it easy for businesses and members of the public to access the design expertise they need.

How to join

In order to become a member of Design Directory Ireland you must be accredited with a recognised design institution in Ireland. Currently, we represent designers and makers affiliated with the Council of Irish Fashion Designers (CIFD), the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCoI), the Institute of Designers in Ireland (IDI) and the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI). This ensures that all members of the directory are qualified practitioners of their disciplines.

Background

Design Directory Ireland was commissioned as part of Irish Design 2015 (ID2015), a year long initiative which promoted Irish design and its economic growth in Ireland and internationally.

The directory aims to generate and develop job opportunities across Ireland’s design sector by establishing a comprehensive register of practising designers and makers alongside the latest tools and techniques for applying design.
